Located in historic downtown Chestertown, Maryland, Bad Alfred’s is a brewpub and distillery featuring house-made spirits, local craft beer and wood-fired pizzas.
Established in 2018 by owners Al and Jennifer Cassinelli as Bad Alfred’s Distilling, today Bad Alfred’s continues to create small-batch craft spirits alongside an expanded cocktail, beer, and wood-fired dining menu.
Built in a former historic garage and filling station, Bad Alfred’s open, inviting dining room and bar faces a glassed-in distillery space, allowing patrons to watch the spirit-making process as they enjoy a drink, pizza, or live music. The back of the building now houses a private event space complete with a bar, dining room and conference space.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at our process and sample our spirits. We offer a one hour private tour and tasting with our brewer/distiller by appointment. Cost is $20/person, and our tastings/tours are available on Saturdays at 2:00 or 3:00. Limited to 6 people per tour.

DISTILLERY & SPIRITS
We create a range of house-made spirits at our onsite micro-distillery, available for purchase by the bottle or in one of our house craft cocktails. Patrons are encouraged to take a look at our process through the glassed-in walls of the distilling room, where we seasonally craft our line of signature spirits and artisanal liquors.

Bad Alfred’s is the perfect spot for your next family gathering, special occasion or group event. Our private bar space, conference room and lounge can accommodate groups of up to 50 people, with a access to our full cocktails, beer and pizza menu. Stylishly decorated, with a private entrance close to convenient parking and adjacent rest rooms, our event space is available for reservation by the hour or day.
